FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW WE GOT STARTED
Long story short: TTT was a divinely inspired and progressive answer to a personal prayer by its founder Tiffany Robertson after the events surrounding Michael Brown and Von Derritt Meyers in 2014.
WHO WE ARE
The vision for TTT is to cultivate empathy among diverse community members through sincere and sustainable relationships. This is accomplished through honest discourse primarily focused on, but not limited to, racism.
WHEN & WHERE
TTT Meets Every Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. and/or 6-8 p.m. @ various location throughout St. Louis City and its surrounding regions.
DO I HAVE TO COMMIT?
Tuesday’s are busy; we get that! The current TTT model does allow for a limited ͞trial participation͟ where Individuals are invited to come and experience TTT but will not have access to the closed FB groups until they have attended a minimum of 3 sessions and/or signed the Participation Agreement.
WHY WE DO IT
To organically build a sustainable community that is acutely aware of and acknowledges our differences but remains committed to building relationships despite them. Additionally, because some lessons can never be taught; only learned.
HOW WE DO IT
By sharing the sum of our respective experiences over a chosen subject transparently and agreeing to extend grace for someone’s else’s truth even when we disagree or find it uncomfortable to digest.
IS TTT A SAFE PLACE?
As the name implies, our conversations can be edgy and considered too difficult for some to explore, so it shouldn’t be broadcast as a safe space. The relationships formed may make the participants feel safe among one another, but the TTT experience is about developing in an uncomfortable process.
WHAT WE DO
Choose to intentionally integrate by exploring conversations across topics that are difficult but necessary and filtered through diverse cultures, philosophies and experiences.
WHAT IF I WANT THE CONVERSATIONS, BUT NOT THE RELATIONSHIPS?
Kick rocks! It is almost impossible to share these weekly conversations and not develop relationally toward other participants. TTT is designed specially to cultivate relationships with people who are different, and who we would normally draw back from because…well… segregation worked. That’s why the model is #CommunitytheRemix
IS THERE A COST?
Yes, but it is currently not monetary! There is a personal sacrifice of time, truth and transparency respective to each participant’s involvement. Although the TTT experience is self-governed, there is always potential to exposure to a variety of uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and attitudes that cannot be mitigated.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO?
We party like Rock stars!! Well…maybe more like an orchestra…lol, but the point is we strengthen our relationships through Freestyle Fellowships where we just hang out and celebrate each other! No occasion necessary. We realize that the conversations are important, but the fellowships are essential because we all have one main thing in common: We are all inadequately human subject to this thing called life and need each other!
WILL I HAVE TO DO A SERVICE PROJECT?
Thankfully, TTT is about personal growth, so we never ask you to do or participate in anything other than your own development in whatever topic we are exploring. There may be some opportunities to #ConnectServeSupport other participants if you share a common interest, but this is completely subjective and not a requirement.
IS TTT AFFILIATED POLITICALLY OR RELIGIOUSLY?
Nope. TTT is not a religious or political organization, although it’s founder is unapologetically Christian; however, the intention of her vision is to help those who are least alike to build relationships even across political and religious beliefs.
